||THE STORY||
The year is 1803, the turn of the century in England, where war has resumed only a year after the French Revolutionary Wars came to conclusion. Countless families are still picking up the pieces of their lives, including the aristocracy of Hemlock Park. Politics boom between the Whig and Tory parties as Radicals begin to grow in numbers. Tensions rise at the possibility of an English revolution, while tides between upper and lower classes are at an all time high. As the titled men and women of London attempt to maintain the power behind their names, drama and scandal seem to be wildly attracted to our residents. When not in their country estates or hillside manors to get fresh air, the bustle of London is where our residents find themselves; and where loose lips give Madame Missive her front page stories. Scandals flood the news, some merely rumour... but most are true for our residents.
New wars begin not only on the battlefield, but within the ballrooms and parlours of the upper-class homes of Hemlock’s residents. As hushed voices carry rumours and stories throughout the circles of these men and women, secrets will be revealed, and rumors will be born. As the lavish curtains that cloak the lives of these heirs and heiresses are drawn back, what stories will be told?
Lust, friendship, murder, love, there is no telling where the lives of our residents will go. The story is up to you to decide.
Hemlock Park's location is a private suburb just outside of London. An elite neighborhood surrounding a large, picturesque park with freshly manicured grass and perfect blossoming flowers (sort of like a smaller-scale Central or Hyde park, surrounded by city). The center of the park holds a clean pond that children skate on in the winters and fish in during the warmer seasons. Grand city like mansions line the cobblestone streets behind high iron and stone gates, protecting the upper class families that reside in the grand neighborhood when not out at their countryside estates. Though the elite neighborhood may look like perfection, not everything is as it seems. Behind the doors of their stately homes corruption, lies, lust, murder, and more are hidden. Scandal may tempt some of the aristocracy, but more than a few find that scandal is not easy to hide from.
With Parliament back in session, residents have returned to their cityscapes in London once again.
